Exams in delhi

i am sure each of us have felt it, - when you expect something and hope for that to happen with all your heart, and when it doesnt, you get a sinking feeling, your heart feels so heavy, such an unpleasant sensation which is quite difficult to fathom later on. i really cant begin to describe in words how i felt for a good couple of hours after learning that i hadnt qualified for the interviews in the aiims Dm exam. I know its the one of the toughest exam and one of the most competitive exams among the most brilliant young MD's of india, but after answering a really tough exam, i had felt that i had done quite well, atleast qiute well enough to be up there with the best guys. but unfortunately, i was wrong and when i saw the results i felt what i have tried to describe in the early salvo. But i have got over that disappointment now, and yeah today was the cmc vellore exam, 120 questions in 90 minutes, really with all those choices, felt like 200 questions in 90 minutes. finished it on the dot, and towards the end i felt like it was a race against time more than trying to solve the questions. Most of the guys felt it was a tough one to crack. Yeah i did feel it was testing , but tough? Hmm- not that much, anyway in this exam where it was more like a rapid fire test, a lot depends on luck, i guess.
Hoping for the best, keeping fingers crossed.
tomorow i leave for kolkata,
well , the journey continues.........

Its time...!

well, ..its time to tell myself.. raghu, the time has come.. you've been working for this for close to a year now.. its finally upon you now.. in a weeks time.. i get started on a slew of examinations scheduled almost every week, which will determine where i will be headed a couple of months or so down the line.. Its My DM entranc e exams.. and i have been preparing whole heartedly for it for several months now.. i have tried to put in my best efforts,, but sometimes i do feel..is it going to be enough?
Its one of those times when i am not sure whether i am good enough to secure a seat.. ( very few of them and so many good competitors). Come to think of it.. it perhaps maybe the first time in my career of exam-writing(thats a new one isnt it? but medicos will testify that its a huge part of their life - this ' exam-writing") that i am so unsure.. I dont know how the competition is preparing for it. so i am on my own here. Still i am giving it my best and let's see if my best is good enough. only time will tell.

Cheering lessons for our politicians!

Its the season for controversies..now that cricket is back big time on television.. the are having a great time with The IPL occupying much of prime time news. Well! that's their work..isn't .reporting what everyone wants to know about. So why is our friendly neighbourhood politician getting involved with cricket.. Unfortunately once he realised that he could not buy a franchise for himself , he has been trying to get involved.. its election time , isn't it? you have to be in the news somehow. So he looked around.. and what did he find.. fine young girls dancing to the beat with every boundary and every wicket that falls.. and hey..what else did he see.. most of them were wearing the kind of short skirts and low tops that his grand-daughter has been wearing to her colleges and parties..but hey..this is a cricket ground..and there are men watching.. there are ladies too in the ground..(all trying to enjoy their cricket).. but hey.. as a senior politician of the country, how could he be quiet and let this charade go on... he suddenly hits the headlines, parroting a line saying that these cheer girls are not part of our culture..(he has apparently forgotten that his granddaughter may not be part of this same culture then). The media, hungry for controversies grab words right out of his mouth and lo behold! everybody is talking about our man.. Then a few days go by... of course..the cheer girls respond in a way they know best..keep their mouth shut and dance away.. changing their attire to shorts and pants. No much change..just a little makeover.. and hey..they have won the hearts back. controversy parried away...the politician left fuming as he has not got the expected mileage.. he had thought of a headlong collision with the franchise bosses..and lots of television time.. but that didn't happen.. but not getting despondent, he 's back watching each of the games.. looking for another chance.
