i must admit, i am a die hard fan of the "lord of the rings" series of novels as well as the movies, i am yet to write anything on those epics, someday i have promised myself -i will. Today i want to talk about a new fantasy series i have been introduced to - ERAGON. The movie 'eragon' was released a few months back, truth to say, i wasn't impressed enough to go watch it, because of the similarity between the title and a popular character in the lord of the rings named Aragon. Myself thought- it must have been a cheap gimmick to just attract the fans of the book. But when i recently read the novel, i was impressed enough to read the second book in the series " ELDEST". AND the books are anything but a cheap imitation. Written by a very young author, just out of his teens, the books hold you captive throughout the narrative and delves deeply into the psyche of the beings of the world that is created.. Fantasy works for me for the very reason every kid loves a fairy tale, - for the world that it creates -but with human emotion and gumption. And this tale about humans, elves,dwarves, an evil king and a dragon definitely works for me.
all lovers of fantasia- will savor this new hero
